Ordering and shipping
When will my order ship?
Orders placed by 1 PM HST, Monday to Friday, ship the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff, on weekends or on holidays ship the next business day.
Is everything on the site in stock?
Yes. Everything we list is on the shelf at our shop in Wailuku, Maui. If a size shows as available, we have it.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard USPS shipping is free on every US order, applied automatically at checkout. USPS Priority is $12.99 and FedEx 2Day is $24.00 for US mainland states. See all shipping options.
Can I use a promo code and get free shipping?
No. Free shipping doesn't combine with promo codes, so you get the code's discount or free shipping, not both.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes, to 26 countries, starting at $29.99 by USPS First Class International. Customs fees, duties and taxes are paid by the customer. See countries and rates.
Sizing and fit
How do I pick my size?
Measure your natural waist and compare it with the sizes and measurements on the product page. If you're between sizes or unsure, email jz@mauishirts.com with your measurement and the style, and we'll help you choose.
What's the difference between outseam and inseam?
Outseam runs down the outside of the leg, from the top of the waistband to the hem. Inseam runs from the crotch seam to the hem. Board shorts are usually listed by outseam, so check which one the product page uses before comparing with shorts you already own.
What if they don't fit?
Exchange them within 30 days of delivery with no restocking fee, as long as they're unworn and unwashed with tags attached. See how exchanges work.
Fabric and care
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rates how much UV light passes through a fabric. A UPF 50+ fabric lets through less than one fiftieth of the sun's UV rays. It protects the skin the shorts cover; use sunscreen on the rest.
Check each product page to see whether that style carries a UPF rating.
How should I wash my shorts?
Follow the care label sewn into each pair. After salt water or a pool, a rinse in fresh water before washing is a good habit.
Returns
Can I return something for a refund?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery if the item is unworn, unwashed and tagged. Refunds carry a 15% restocking fee, and return postage is paid by you. Exchanges have no restocking fee.
Can I return shorts I've worn in the water?
No. Shorts that have been worn, washed or in the water can't be returned or exchanged.
What if my item arrives damaged or wrong?
Email jz@mauishirts.com with your order number and we'll make it right.
